DAY 2

A short journey takes us to Loughborough and a full day at the best mainline steam railway in Britain - the double track Great Central Railway. A steam gala at the Great Central is like no other in Britain with passenger, dining, freight, mineral, light engine and TPO workings it really is a totally unique steam day. Your day rover ticket allows unlimited travel along the line with real ale available at Loughborough station, on the train, and the real ale 'tin shed' bar at Quorn. In fact a day at Quorn station is like stepping back to mainline steam days with trains arriving and departing every few minutes.
