We arrive in Perth and check into the Salutation Hotel for one night.

Today's journey north heads by train to Pitlochry, where a coach awaits to whisk us to Queen's View, said to be Queen Victoria's favourite stop-off on her journey to her Scottish residence. This famous panorama looks due west along Loch Tummel towards Glencoe. Next stop is Edradour Distillery, Scotland's smallest distillery, which enjoys a beautiful setting and still produces hand-made malts. Continuing on the Highland Line to Aviemore, we then transfer to Nethybridge in the heart of Speyside for two nights at the Nethybridge Hotel.

B, D

Today begins with a steam ride on the Strathspey Steam Railway on the former Highland Railway, before we ride to the summit on the Cairngorm Funicular Railway. After a day of steam and mountains we return to Speyside with a visit to Glenlivet Distillery.

B, D

Transferring through Speyside, we visit Strathisla Distillery in Keith, the home of Chivas Regal. Before our train transports us across Speyside to the east coast for two nights at Aberdeen's Jury's Inn.

B, D

A coach excursion takes us through beautiful Royal Deeside to the village of Crathie, so entwined with Royal history, and where our June groups also visit Balmoral (not open in September). After visiting Royal Lochnagar Distillery, we return to Aberdeen for some free time to explore this handsome 'Granite City'.

B, D

Today's stunning rail journey hugs the coast, crossing the Tay Bridge from Dundee in spectacular fashion. Alighting in Leuchars we transfer first to St Andrews, the home of golf, before continuing to the excellent Eden Mill Brewery & Distillery. Whilst still brewing excellent craft beers and distilling whisky, Eden Mill is most famous for its innovative hand-crafted gins, so we will join their gin tour before continuing to the Salutation in Perth for two nights.

B, D

A day of two excursions, as we first head into Edinburgh by train. After a guided walking tour of the famous 'Royal Mile' we enjoy free time in Scotland's proud capital. Back in Perth in the late afternoon, a coach transports us to the Scotland's oldest working distillery, Glenturret in Crieff for a tour and tasting of their single malt, as well as an explanation on the art of blending their famous Traditional Grouse.

B, D

We bid farewell to Perth and our grand malt tour.

*In the unlikely event of the steam train being unavailable we reserve the right to substitute a diesel train or undertake the journey by road coach.*
