DAY 1
London to Paris by Eurostar, with a champagne breakfast at your First Class seat, then by First class TGV express to Switzerland with a welcoming meal upon arrival at our centrally located hotel. (B,D)
DAY 2
A free day in idyllic Interlaken; ride the scenic mountain railways, or cruise to pretty alpine villages – at no additional cost. If it’s a clear day, perhaps take the Jungfrau Mountain Railway to the ‘Top of Europe’ at a discounted rate, using your Swiss Rail pass. This and the next evening are left free to dine at leisure in idyllic Interlaken. (B)
DAY 3
By train to Lake Lucerne and the Rigi Mountain railway including a 3 course fondue lunch with wine at the summit whilst admiring the magnificent mountain scenery with Lake Lucerne far below. (B,L)
DAY 4
A magnificent rail excursion into the high Alps to the world famous ski resort of Zermatt, dwarfed by the mighty Matterhorn. Relax in this car-free town as horse carriages jingle along the streets of shops and traditional chalets. We return to Interlaken for a farewell evening meal at our hotel. (B,D)
DAY 5
With luggage transported ahead separately, we take our panoramic train over the Lötschberg Pass and board the world-famous Glacier Express. Our destination is the ski resort of Chur and a welcoming evening meal at the Hotel Chur. (B,D)
DAY 6
A free day in Chur or take another spectacular journey with your Swiss Rail pass to the alpine health resort of Arosa, wonderfully situated atop a beautiful valley. We leave this evening free to dine at leisure in Chur (B)
DAY 7
A breathtaking wonderland conclusion to a magnificent holiday as we journey aboard the Bernina Express into Italy, traversing lofty viaducts and spiralling curves with incredible vistas from our panoramic carriage. (B,D)
DAY 8
We head homeward to Basel then First Class TGV to Paris and London. A champagne evening meal aboard Eurostar concludes this sensational holiday. (B,D)
