Tour Descriptions

 

All our holidays by train require a reasonable level of physical fitness and unaided mobility. Our only wish is for you to enjoy your holiday and it is for this reason that we must be sure that the tour you have selected is suitable for you.

 

To help you identify the suitability of a tour, our tours are thoughtfully classified based on activity level to help you find the perfect fit. This classification can be found on the "Other Information" tab for each tour on our website and is as follows:

 

• Leisurely Tour – A relaxing tour with minimal physical activity plus downtime to wander and discover at your own pace.

 

• Moderate Tour – An engaging tour with moderate physical activity with walking, occasional steps, and activities on most days.

 

• Active Tour – An energetic tour with physical activities and adventures on most days which could include longer walks, challenging steps, and hills.

 

Our tour descriptions are based on a variety of components that make up each tour from terrain and distance walked each day to the number of hotel changes, and from the average length of each activity to how long you’ll spend travelling between sites.

 

As part of the booking process, you are required to declare that you (and all your party travelling) are capable of the following as a minimum:

• Carrying and lifting your own luggage on and off a train

• Walking at a reasonable pace as part of a group

• Climbing steps and stairs comfortably
