DAY 1
Arriving in Perth we will be met with pre-arranged taxis and taken to our hotel for four nights, the Royal George Hotel. Tonight, we enjoy our first evening meal together.
DDAY 2
After enjoying breakfast, we have some free time to explore Perth before meeting at the station to board our Scotrail train for the short 20-min journey to our second Scottish city, Dundee. We make a visit to Discovery Point, home to The RRS Discovery, and follow in the steps of Captain Scott and his heroic team, learning everything about the fascinating story of the famous Antarctic Expedition. There is a café onsite for lunch and afterwards why not visit the V&A Gallery or take time at leisure in the city centre before meeting back at the station. Returning by rail we will arrive into Perth where private taxis will return us to the Royal George for our evening meal together.
B, DDAY 3
After breakfast today we board our private coach and travel to our third Scottish city, beautiful Stirling. Making our way to the old town we will visit one of the grandest castles in Scotland, the scenery is breathtaking, explore the castle's rich history and stunning architecture by joining one of the guided tours. After exploring we make our way down the hill to the Stirling Highland hotel for a delicious afternoon tea in the warming, atmospheric surroundings of this landmark hotel. Afterwards we meet our private coach and travel to the National Wallace Monument for a visit to the iconic tower and exhibition halls. We make our way up through the wooded slopes of the Abbey Craig passing the beautiful wood carvings and, on arrival at the tower, enjoy the exhibition halls telling the story of Scotland’s national hero and climb the 246 steps up to the crown for magnificent views of the city. Rejoining our private coach, we retrace our steps to Perth arriving in time for our evening meal together.
B, L, DDAY 4
This morning we have a leisurely breakfast and time at leisure to explore Perth. Why not visit the Museum & Art Gallery or the Fergusson Gallery which is located in an old watertower and showcases the work of Scottish colourist John Fergusson. For something different why not walk the River Tay public art trail, follow the natural & historic journey of the city through thought-provoking sculptures along this beautiful trail. Reconvening back at the hotel we visit the Perth distillery located just next door. The family run, award-winning distillery will take you on their personal journey with stories of old Perth and how the distillery has breathed new life into this unique setting. Included is a tour and tasting along with a delicious tapas style lunch. Afterwards relax in the beautiful hotel surroundings or take a walk along the river before we meet later for our final evening meal together.
B, L, DDAY 5
After our final breakfast together, our hotel in Perth bids "haste ye back" as we make our way home. Pre-arranged taxis will transfer us to the station for our return trains.
