The Hidden Railways of Kent

DAY 1

Travel by High Speed Rail or local services to Ashford, where you will meet your Tour Manager. Transfer with your luggage by private road coach to the Richmond Light Railway. Spend the rest of the afternoon enjoying a steam charter on this rarely visited private railway. We then transfer to our hotel in Canterbury.

DAY 2

Breakfast in hotel. Coach transfer to East Kent Railway at Shepherdswell and Knees Woodland Railway. Coach transfer to Kent & East Sussex Railway, with cream tea supplied.

DAY 3

Breakfast in hotel. Coach transfer to nearby Faversham, visit to Faversham Miniature Railway (Brogdale Farm). Transfer to Sittingbourne and Kemsley Light Railway, where the rest of the day is spent on the railway, lunch provided.

DAY 4

Breakfast in hotel. Coach transfer to Bredgar & Wormshill Railway (lunch provided). Coach transfer to the nearby private Torry Hill Railway. Return to hotel

DAY 5

Breakfast in hotel. Coach transfer to Hythe for the RH & DR. Coach pick up from Dungeness, to nearby Pilot Inn for fish and chip lunch. Travel to New Romney to visit the engine sheds, model railway and exhibition at the headquarters of the RHDR. Coach transfer to hotel, allowing free time to explore Canterbury further.

DAY 6

Breakfast in hotel. Coach transfer to New Barn Light Railway, where we have a steam charter. Coach to the private Eynsford Light Railway, afternoon spent enjoying the railway.
Return to hotel

DAY 7

Now a free day with the possibility of moving Day Eight visits here- or enquire into the possibility of a visit to a narrow gauge steam railway at Mote Park, Maidstone, followed by a river cruise on the river Medway including fish and chips. OR (cost dependent), a diesel charter over either the Dungeness or Grain freight only branch lines in a restored heritage Hastings diesel train.

DAY 8

After breakfast we check out with our luggage and travel by coach to the former Tunbridge Wells West Station, now home to the Spa Valley Railway. We enjoy a steam hauled service to Eridge and back, in a reserved carriage.
After the Spa Valley, time to grab a bite to eat before we transfer to the Wayside Light Railway, where we enjoy our final charter. After, we transfer to nearby Tonbridge Station, where we take a South Eastern service train to London, where the tour finishes.
