DAY 1
If travelling on our rail inclusive package, we travel the route of the old "Cornish Riviera Express", clinging to the sea wall at Dawlish before crossing Brunel's mighty Royal Albert Bridge into Cornwall, and onto Bodmin Parkway, from where we transfer to stay for four nights at the lovely Lanhydrock Hotel.
DDAY 2
Today we make our way to the magically reclaimed Lost Gardens of Heligan and are greeted by our guide for an introduction to the Heligan Estate. The original 19th century gardens were amongst the finest in the country and now, after more than a decade of restoration, we will enjoy the romance and nostalgia of these fabulous gardens. After our visit, we will make our way to Pencarrow House & Gardens, tucked away on the edge of Bodmin Moor, where we will enjoy a cream tea before exploring the beautiful gardens. We will learn the history and secrets of the ancient family home discovering hidden passageways on our guided tour of the Georgian House before returning to our hotel in time for our evening meal.
B, LR, DDAY 3
Today we board our coach for the short journey to the Eden Project for an unforgettable sensory journey of breathtaking beauty, as you step from steamy tropical rain forest into Mediterranean-type climates of the world. Afterwards, we will head to Pinetum Gardens, a garden oasis of tranquillity, peace, and scenery comprising of several gardens within the one including a Cornish Cottage Garden, a Japanese Garden, and a Water Garden.
B, DDAY 4
We will stay local today as we visit our final garden of the tour, the neighbouring Lanhydrock House & Gardens, with the chance to explore this lovely Victorian house and extensive gardens famous for their magnolia trees and herbaceous borders. Following our visit, we transfer to Bodmin for a wonderful journey of nostalgia on the Bodmin & Wenford Steam Railway, a time-capsule of yesteryear's train travel.
B, DDAY 5
After breakfast it is time to bid farewell to the Lanhydrock and journey homeward.
